About Emily Fowke's Current Work

Through the year I look around and gather material from landscapes which inspire me to paint in my studio

I really love to paint and  connect that (mainly) to love of landscapes in the more natural world. This goes with being a shiatsu practitioner  ( based around Nature-centred Daoist philosophy). I also write and sing.

I am currently focussing on the  East Anglian countryside which, thirty years back having at first felt alien, coming mainly  from Shropshire, I've grown to really enjoy and care about, with its many unusual aspects: big views, areas of detail such as low trees and lodes which stand out affectingly against the flat scenery; wonderful skies
